So I’ve been told. I’m excited to see how this goes with my new work schedule. I have this schedule where I arrive at the office at 7:45 and work until noon. Then from 12-5 I work on strategy. This leaves me with plenty of time to play Travian on my iPhone.
ive reconnected with one of the members of the A-Team from NL. Maybe I can join the end of a COMX or USX server and take over someone’s account. So many people quit Travian after starting there never seems to be a shortage of account to pick up, once someone else has done the heavy lifting.
During adventures, your hero could come home bringing a bunch of stuff. It can be resources, silver, items or troops. Now, in the long run when you continually send your hero in adventures (which you must), your hero can collect a bunch of items and sometimes, you can get 2 or more of the same item. A lot of these things can be very useful in a large number like for example, ointments. You may want to keep ointments with you as it can help boost your hero’s health so you don’t have to worry much about him dying on adventures.
There are some items that might no longer come in handy for you or you could just have extra of them. What do you do? You sell them. Items could be sold at Travian auctions and you can make silver from them. It might be easy to think that you just simply put an item on sale and then earn silver. But there is a strategy that you can follow to make sure that you earn the most silver in Travian auctions.
Travian Auctions – Selling Strategies
This is the Travian auctions. This is where you can buy and sell items. There are a lot of items that you can get here but don’t expect the best items to be easily found. There are certain items that are rarely on sale but this is the best and only place you can get items that you need. Let’s face it, in adventures, you really can’t tell when you’re going to get the item you want or if you’ll ever get it. But in Travian auctions, you can get the item you need. You just have to bid on it and make sure you won the bidding.
Now, if you are to sell an item. There are certain things you need to keep in mind. First, before selling the item, check for the same available item in the Travian auctions. See how much it is priced. Don’t immediately judge when you see it. Wait for the auction to finish to see how much the item can increase it’s price. If the item in Travian auctions didn’t go high in the last 24 hours (shorter on speed servers), don’t sell your item yet. It’s not the right time since it’s not very much valued. Check and see when the price of a certain item goes up before selling it.
Another consideration you can take in is the number of players online. When you post the item, you want to get as much bids as possible. The lesser the bids, the lower the increase in the price of your item. But if there are many players online, then you know you have the chance of getting more bids. Check the Statistics and go to General. This is where you will see the number of players online.
Along with this, you want to make sure your timing is correct. If for example you’re in a specific server and you know that during a specific time of the day, more players are online. For example, people are online during the time after work or after school. You would want to take that time but still, check statistics.
Please take note, during the beginning of the server, a lot of items are sold for high prices. Even cages and ointments sell for high prices in Travian auctions during the beginning of the game because everyone would want to have them. But later on in mid game, prices of these items in Travian auctions start to depreciate. There are items that will remain expensive though even though near end of the game like for example, scrolls. These are usually always high. Another thing is horses but they are RARELY found in Travian auctions. Nobody sells them. If you do acquire them, I would also discourage you from selling them even if you would have 2 horses. You will want them so keep them. Bandages and small bandages are some examples of items that would almost value for nothing in Travian auctions.
Earn More Silver With The Right Strategy
So these are some tips on selling your items in Travian auctions. Bottom line, all it takes is the right timing. Once you sold an item in the right time and demand is high, you’ll make the most of it.
Wishing everybody luck and comment if you’ve tried this strategy.
There have been a lot of things in the past that has caused me lots of problem in Travian. If you have been following this blog, you would know the problems I have faced such as the crop shortage problem, the constant raids, and even the stalker problems which brought destructive attacks in my village. The economy of my Travian was also at possibly it’s worst state ever which caused problem after problem after problem. I know these are all results of crucial mistakes done and I am to blame for them
I do admit, I made poor decisions. Hey, I’m not much of an expert yet but I am trying my best to learn the game and understand it well. This way, I can make sure that I’m on the right track and to be honest, I have never gone this far ever before. So I’m actually proud of the things that I have achieved. If ever I start a new server over again, I’m pretty sure my progress will be faster since I have learned a lot from my experiences in this server.
But now, I’m on the process of getting my village back on track. The mistakes done won’t hold me back from getting my village back to a good condition. The raids have cooled down, I have dealt with the stalker and my resources are well protected with my 3 crannies so my worries about raids are no longer that scary.
Step by Step Process – Mistakes Done and Solutions
Here, I’d outline the mistakes that I have made and the solution that must be done to get things back on track. I’m hoping that this mistake list will help you guys not make the same mistakes I’ve done.
Keeping resource fields behind – This mistake done is one mortal sin if you ask me and trust me, it’s one you wouldn’t want to make. You can take the tip I gave you yesterday which I am now doing. I’m on the process of applying it and my resource fields are now looking good.
Not investing on defenses – Of all of the mistakes done, this is one of the biggest. Beginners and “small time” players are the usual targets of raids. They are the ones who usually end up as farms. So as early as the beginner’s protection period, invest your time and resources of building up defenses. Protect your resources as much as possible. When you’re continuously raided and the enemy raids are successful, they will see that you have poor defenses and you can be sure that with the loots they can take from you, they will keep coming back. Once they do, it will be very difficult for you to get back up since you will no longer have the resources you need to build up resources. In other words, don’t wait for things to be too late before you start to realize what should be done.
Making enemies – If you’re a player who is still not capable of building an army in a short period of time, DO NOT invest a lot of time to build a big army and attack a big player. As tempting as it can get, try to avoid revenge on a player you know can create a big army in just a day or two while it takes you more than a week to top his troops. A mistake done like this is a very bad decision and you will end up making an unnecessary enemy. Not unless you are capable of keeping those troops in great number each day, don’t piss off a big player. You will be defeated before you can even counter his attacks.
Staying idle – Sometimes when you see that you have done a lot already in your account, you could feel content with the progress you’ve made which in turn causes you to take time to chill and relax. It can be very tempting but remember, the big players are not stopping and so should you. You may think you’re good enough but you’re not. As long as there is room for improvement and there can still be upgrades to be done, do it. When there’s nothing else you can upgrade in the village, then build a second one. Never let yourself be idle. You may relax now but once you’ve gained frequent raiders, you may not be able to relax anymore. Tendency, you’ll just give up hope. Mistake done like this could be irreversible so as early as you can, solve it!
Learn Your Way Through
It’s natural to make mistakes, we’re not perfect after all. But, be sure that you take action immediately. There are mistakes done that if you dwell in can be beyond repair. Do your best and learn your way through the game. There will always be a way to make things better. You just have to find it, solve the problem, get better.
In my previous postings, I made an article about a guy in Travian whom I met. If you have read the story, you know that this guy is a Travian stalker and has been demanding personal things from me. He was being flirty but he is a guy who is way older than me. It’s really creepy.
Just when I thought that things couldn’t get creepier, it just did.
I have been updating my Travian account and if you have read my article yesterday about updates in my account, you know what’s going on. I was happy about the results of my hero’s adventures. He went home with 36 TT’s and the latest is 35 Druidrider. I couldn’t be happier with the first report but when I read the next reports, I was like, “oh. my. god.”
There was one attack that was quite damaging. With the 400 troops this player sent, my troops were wiped out. It was not very surprising and I guess that’s a normal thing to happen in Travian. What surprised me was the other report. It wasn’t just a raid, it was an attack. This attack came from, you’ve guessed it, the Travian stalker.
See the report right here:
I couldn’t be more outraged with what I saw! 8 catapults and he was able to destroy my cropland?! This is terrible. This is hindering me way too much with my progress and I have to do something about it. As I’m typing this now, an attack just came in from him and now my main building has been lowered to level 10 from level 11. There has been way too much damage already. I have to do something about this Travian stalker. I was able to make friends with him before by just going with his flirts. I bet I can manage to somehow manipulate him again and have him stop attacking me.
He sent me a message. I was not worried at all because I’m pretty sure he just wants something again and I’m pretty confident I can make my way around him. This is what his message contained:
I told him that we were friends so why would he give me such a blow. Turns out, he does want something. This Travian stalker wants to know more about my personal life so now he’s asking to know what my Facebook account is. I guess it’s a trade. My Facebook in exchange for him to stop attacking my village.
I am so confused. I was planning on telling him a fake name which I just made up. I can’t just create and account because he’ll know I’m faking it. But if I don’t give him something, he’ll continue attacking me.to the point of destroying my village. He already destroyed my cropland. Who knows what he’ll do next. It was already lucky enough that his attack didn’t destroy my palisade. This Travian stalker is a bigger player than I am so I can’t fight him. I won’t be able to do a successful attack. Besides, if I do that, I just made myself a big enemy.
I need a plan to defeat this Travian without having to actually fight him.
This is what I will do, I will come up with the excuse that I don’t have a Facebook account because me and my boyfriend just broke up so I deactivated it. I’ll try to see if he’ll bite to that excuse. But, if ever he won’t, there is only one thing to do. I would just have to report him to the multi-hunter. I have no choice. I really do wonder how he’d react and what would happen if I report him. Things might just get a little more interesting. Until then, I’ll keep you guys updated on how this story will end up.
I may have not been playing for long but this server which I currently am part of has introduced me to the more types of players in Travian. You may think that there are only two types of players: the strong ones and the weak ones but there is actually more to that. As far as by my observation, I’ve seen that in each one, there are two subtypes. From how I see it, these are not just types but somehow act as a level of players. I can see that as a beginner, you may undergo each level(type) and work your way to the top. But of course, it will all depend on your strategy. It will take amazing and skillful strategies to make your way to the top.
We will go over each and discuss what makes each one different from the other. You may want to see which type you belong so you can evaluate what actions you can take to make your way up another level. Let’s see what are these types:
Four Types of Players
These four types will be under two major categories. The first two will be under one major category and the last two will be under another.
The Weak Players
The Saints – These players are the first of the four types. They are the most obvious beginners. They believe that, “Attack not if you do not want others attack unto you.” Usually, they don’t have very much troops. They mainly rely on their resource fields for resources and some focuses on upgrading their resource fields. Usually, they don’t have a strategy in mind. These are the type of players who can’t do anything about the attacks in them and usually end up as farms so mostly, they don’t last in the game.
The Safe Players – These are the second of the four type of players are like the beginners who are gaining momentum. They are learning their way to the game but they are still not very capable of doing anything. They rarely attack other players and if they do, they will look for inactive players. Attacking inactive players makes sure that they won’t be raided back for revenge. They also love to attack unoccupied oases. They have troops but they work on defending themselves. They try hard not become the farm. Most likely, they are only above the saints just because they have troops. But more or less, they are not very different.
The Strong Players
The Mediocre – Continuing the count, this is the third of the four types. These players are categorized under strong players because they feed on the Saints and the Safe Players. Although, these players could still be fearful of the highest level players. They have improved so well and they understand that raiding and attacking is vital to the game. They know that they need to work on being able to fend off every attack. They do their best to protect their village from players bigger than them and they try to be an active attacker. The Mediocre players, most but not all, are usually content with their state. As long as they see that they can compete with others (except the Alpha), they think they are good enough. There are some of the Mediocres who strive to become one of the Alphas but they usually find a hard time doing so. It takes time and lots and lots and LOTS of experience to become one of the Alphas.
The Alpha – Last among the four types and the highest among all. These are the type of players who feed on all the other lower types. They are not afraid of attacking and they are usually very active and offensive players. Their defenses are incredible and any other lower class player who try to attack them usually ends up losing. They are the top of the food chain and usually find them in the list of the top players. Most Alphas belong to big and strong alliances and they are usually also composed of mainly Alphas. They are great players and very much experienced. They know how to make their way through the game with a sure strategy in mind. They are amazing players and they have strong troops.
What type of player are you? Have you seen yourself in any of these categories? Tell me what you think in the comments!
Online games are fun, aren’t they? Not only do they provide entertainment but they help us make friends. What’s great about it is that you get to meet people in different parts of the world. I remember the time when I was still in high school and I played Gaia Online a lot. I got to meet there a friend from France. We chat a lot and exchanged interesting things about ourselves and our cultures. We got to be friends for a while and of all, she was the best friend I made online. For some, it’s fun to find someone from the same country.
When you find someone from the same country, you tend to become friends easier. You talk and share personal things with each other. You could even team up with that person if the game allows it. It’s always fun to be making friends but sometimes, you can’t avoid meeting a creep.
I was going about my usual routine in Travian today. I checked reports, sent my hero on adventures, upgraded buildings, upgraded resource fields and training troops. I check messages if there are any and these past few days, I had been exchanging messages with someone. His first message was asking me where country I’m from. He noticed my username and village name was in our native language so he hunched that we were from the same country. So, I told him where I’m from and it was all exciting knowing that we were from the same country. We continued to exchange messages asking personal things about each other since it’s not that of a big deal in our culture to immediately ask personal questions to someone you’ve just met. He asked from which part of the country I was from. It would’ve been fun if we were not far from each other. I know a lot of people from Clash of Clans who flock into one clan because they’re from the same city and they set up meet ups so they can meet each other personally. But apparently, our places were a plane ride away so it’s pretty far.
The Awkward Part
It was all nice and friendly at first. He even apologized for attacking my village twice. So I guess that’s one less enemy. But then, he asked of my age. Of course, I didn’t gave it to him immediately. I told him I was shy. By the way, I know he’s a “he” since his name included an indication of his gender. So he told me how old he was and in return, I told him mine. He lied to me about his age because he thought I’m already old since I said I’m shy about my age.
The next message then shocked me…
He was asking for my number. He asked for my Viber account. Here in our country, it’s like a texting/chatting app. To ask for someone’s Viber account means to ask for that person’s number. I know it could sound weird because it sounds similar to a vibrator and if I wasn’t concentrating, I would’ve misread it since I don’t use that app. So when I read that message, I really didn’t know how to respond. My brain was still processing the thought that this guy could be flirting with me. The next message confirmed that since it’s content was asking me if I have a boyfriend. He was also asking for my personal Facebook account. It’s weird. It’s creepy. I didn’t know how to respond.
Here’s some screenshots of our conversations:
After some thinking, I responded by showing him I was a bit upset that he lied to me about his age because I was being honest. I think he thought I was trying to be cute and girly so he was kidding by telling me that if I no longer reply to his messages, he’d attack me. I’m trying my best to keep it cool. I don’t want him to think I’m interested. I’m even seriously thinking of toying with him. (Yes, I can be a bit evil.)
I’ll try to keep up with his “flirtiness” and try to see how this will end up. I can decide to toy with him and make him think I’m interested. I could also just completely shut him out. The only advantage I see with this is that if I can manipulate him, I can get him to give me resources and troops. Might as well use it for my advantage, don’t you think?
I don’t know if any of you guys have experienced the same thing but today went a little weird for me. I also don’t know if this happens a lot on Travian. Maybe with female players, it could happen. Guys would drool over gamer girls so I guess that’s not to wonder.
Culture points is something that interests a lot of players. With high culture points, you can find and conquer more villages. You can accumulate culture points by building and upgrading buildings. The higher the level your buildings are, the higher culture points it gives you per day. Now culture points are provided by buildings depending on what building it is. There are building that give high culture points and there are some that are lesser. The building that gives the highest culture points is the Treasury. Now this is one expensive building to construct but trust me, the investment will be worth it.
Aside from constructing and upgrading buildings, another great way to earn culture points is by holding celebrations. A celebration, or otherwise called as parties, are held in a Town Hall. There are two types of celebrations: a Small Celebration and a Great Celebration. A Great Celebration is otherwise called as Tea Parties or Grand Balls in other servers. The only disadvantage of celebrations is that they cost much resources but they will earn you great culture points. Of course, the Great Celebration will even cost more than a Small Celebration.
To build a Town Hall, you will need certain prerequisites. A Main Building at level 10 and an Academy at the same, level 10. So earning culture points through celebrations won’t be that easy. More investments of resources and time must be put in. But of course, this is one thing that you will need to do later on in order to progress.
Other building that give the most culture points are the Town Hall, Embassy, Palace, Academy, Workshop, Marketplace and Trade Office. For beginners, the first building that will provide you with high culture points is the Main Building. Construct other buildings as well to earn more culture points. The best you can have to earn culture points is by building an Embassy and a Marketplace. These buildings are mostly required for new players to build since these are part of tasks. You could also start with constructing a Residence. It is one of the second best choice for buildings with high culture points.
Of all the buildings, there one thing you can build that will not give you any culture points. That is the World of Wonder. Even to begin with, it has zero culture points. Now, culture points can be accumulated even with other villages you build. But don’t worry, even if you decide to get rid of one village, it will not affect your culture points in any way. It will remain as is and you will not lose culture points.
Right now, I’m planning on building an Academy anytime soon. With it, I can build a Town Hall so I can start holding celebrations. But that’s not my priority yet. I still have other plans. Rest assured, it’s in my to-do list. I am still trying to build a marketplace so I can have my prisoners ransomed. I have 40 prisoners from two different players. One with 22 prisoners and one with 18 prisoners. I released prisoners from one player since there were only two of the guys. It would be handy if you can use the prisoners for doing your own attacks. I think that would be a neat addition to the game. But since it cannot be, the best I can do to take advantage of it is by having them ransomed.
I’m still idle today since the error has still persist. I already made a report and I’m hoping to get a response within 12-24 hours. I’m really getting the feeling that I’m the only one experiencing this error since there is still no update from Travian about an error or maintenance. But anyhow, today was not wasted. I was able to do research and planned some things on what to do with my Travian account. Finally, I’m starting to get the hang of this game. I just need to do more upgrades since I would need resources. Lots and lots, loads and loads of resources. I’m planning on doing attacks and conquering an oases which I still have to figure out how to do. Still, I’m looking forward to what I can do.
I’m sure, any player would agree with me that you can’t let a day pass without checking your Travian account. What’s not to be excited about, right?
What a week it has been. But now as the week ends, I’m pretty glad about my progress. I have been able to achieve a lot. Good progress and good results from my efforts to improve the village. In just a few more days with just a few more upgrades, I would finally be able to do my first attack which will be in an oases. I could say that the only unfortunate event this week was my hero dying. But even though that happened, I discovered that it takes shorter time to revive the hero than to wait for the health level to boost back up to 100% so I won’t say it was a total loss. I learned something handy from it thus I guess it was a blessing in disguise.
My hero is now alive and kicking. I have just sent her to a new adventure and of course, it’s a dangerous one. I find sending my hero to a normal adventure such a complete waste of time since the increase in knowledge is not that high. It will only eat up so much time with so little benefit and is therefore not worth it. I really suggest sending your hero to dangerous adventures. It may decrease the health by significant amounts but the experience gained is much more and therefore, hero’s progress advances more.
Progress in my village and its resource fields has also been quite significant this week. Today, I’m moving on to continue upgrading my main building. It’s now at level 11 and I’m also expanding my warehouse for more resources. I think it’s time to add a new building to my village. Do any of you guys have any suggestions what’s beneficial to prioritize building? But I guess I can worry about that later. I have to make sure that whenever I start to be active in attacking and raiding, my village is already firm and strong.
Although there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done but I’m glad to see I’m making progress. There’s now a big chance that it won’t take longer than I expected before I can begin some action. I know attacking and raiding is the most exciting part that’s why I can’t wait to finally be able to do it. I got some big plans waiting and there are so many things I want to finally be able to try. What I’m most excited about is starting to research on new troops. I can’t wait to see some new troops for some awesome action. Enemies will regret.
