Cheating just don’t work

facebooktwitterredditlinkedinmailfacebooktwitterredditlinkedinmail

Oops! Clumsy move. My hero died again. Well, this is embarrassing.  It’s a funny story actually because I actually tried sending my hero again on a dangerous adventure without full health. This time, I tried to send my hero to another dangerous adventure that had less time. Still didn’t work though. So I guess, I proved it twice. Never send your hero on a dangerous adventure without full health. That should become a rule. But no worries, my hero is on her way to being revived.

This week, I’m starting with more and more and more upgrades and level up. I have to speed up progress. I think if I take too long to do this, I might end up being a farm and then I would no longer be able to do things. That would be like a trap. I can’t afford for that to happen.

I’m glad that my main building is now at level 11. That’s a big improvement from my other villages before. My barracks is now level 4, my granary at level 7 and a cranny at level 6. Big achievements! I really neglected a lot of stuff in the past that is why I’m making up for it. I really don’t want to make the same mistakes. Neglecting the same things could lead to the same scenario.

I’m pretty much excited about all this. Although I have seen that searching the internet is just not enough. That is why I’m looking for books. Just searching for some good ones that can help me step up my game. But so far, I haven’t found a good one yet. Oh well, I guess it’s not time. At least I have a strategy I follow for now and the pro tips can wait; once I actually become a pro.

I’m a beginner so I have to embrace it, learn from it, move on from it. I know there’s much to learn but playing while learning on the way is simply the best. I don’t want to get all desperate and resort to cheating. Yes, it can be nice to see you get on the top the easy way but it just loses the essence, you know? The achievements don’t feel as satisfying as they are supposed to be. And most of all, it’s not fun anymore. You are just simply cheating and you are no longer playing. Where’s the fun in that?

A whole week of progress

facebooktwitterredditlinkedinmailfacebooktwitterredditlinkedinmail

What a week it has been. But now as the week ends, I’m pretty glad about my progress. I have been able to achieve a lot. Good progress and good results from my efforts to improve the village. In just a few more days with just a few more upgrades, I would finally be able to do my first attack which will be in an oases. I could say that the only unfortunate event this week was my hero dying. But even though that happened, I discovered that it takes shorter time to revive the hero than to wait for the health level to boost back up to 100% so I won’t say it was a total loss. I learned something handy from it thus I guess it was a blessing in disguise.

My hero is now alive and kicking. I have just sent her to a new adventure and of course, it’s a dangerous one. I find sending my hero to a normal adventure such a complete waste of time since the increase in knowledge is not that high. It will only eat up so much time with so little benefit and is therefore not worth it. I really suggest sending your hero to dangerous adventures. It may decrease the health by significant amounts but the experience gained is much more and therefore, hero’s progress advances more.

Progress in my village and its resource fields has also been quite significant this week. Today, I’m moving on to continue upgrading my main building. It’s now at level 11 and I’m also expanding my warehouse for more resources. I think it’s time to add a new building to my village. Do any of you guys have any suggestions what’s beneficial to prioritize building? But I guess I can worry about that later. I have to make sure that whenever I start to be active in attacking and raiding, my village is already firm and strong.

Although there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done but I’m glad to see I’m making progress. There’s now a big chance that it won’t take longer than I expected before I can begin some action. I know attacking and raiding is the most exciting part that’s why I can’t wait to finally be able to do it. I got some big plans waiting and there are so many things I want to finally be able to try. What I’m most excited about is starting to research on new troops. I can’t wait to see some new troops for some awesome action. Enemies will regret.

My Latest Strategy

My resource fields are now all functional and produce-capable. I’ll be leveling them up but for now, I’m focused on developing my village. I haven’t done much yesterday on my village so I have to do some upgrades today. I have to make sure that the progress will continue. I cannot afford any delays right now since the raids have not stopped. They are quite on the rise actually. Not in the number of players but the number of attacks per player.

About the raids, there has been new players attacking me. This is exactly why I have to speed up on the progress. I need to be capable of attacking or defending as soon as possible! If I don’t do anything and fast, I might lose this village again.

To be honest, I have no exact idea what to do. All I know is that I have to upgrade and upgrade so that I’ll be able to produce a somehow big troop of Phalanxes so I can finally do an attack. My hero needs more skills too. I can’t get anywhere with this. I’m still too weak to ward off attackers. I need to build and strengthen up my village.

Right now, an alliance would be so much of a big help. I’m just a little confused on how I get invited into an alliance. I still haven’t seen how to do it or how to ask an alliance leader to give me an invitation. Do I simply message the guy or something? Is that how it goes? Or won’t I really be able to join unless asked to? Although I have read, upon making a little research, that some people prefer to not join an alliance. That I think is a bad idea. You really won’t be able to stand up against a player who has big guys behind him. You should know that when you mess with someone like that, you could be taken down easily once they team up against you. Remember, there’s power in number.

I found a blog, Travian Guide, which talked about alliance and it had some great tips in it about choosing an alliance to join. Not what I was looking for but still very helpful. I can’t believe there are spies in alliances. Some people are really that competitive? Then I guess I should be careful. There may be a lot of tough things about this game but I suppose nothing could be tougher than dealing with other people.

I have always said to myself that in any aspect, I want to do my best and be a winner. But that doesn’t mean that everything will go smoothly because there will be struggles. This game has really been testing my patience and I’m trying my best to be strategic in the best sort of way. There are a lot of improvements to be done but I’m not giving up. I want to be big! I want to be strong. Most of all, I want revenge. Can’t wait to finally feel that excitement of sending out countless attacks on players who would be begging me to spare them.

This is just the beginning…

Raids, raids, raids and slow progress

facebooktwitterredditlinkedinmailfacebooktwitterredditlinkedinmail

Well, darn these players who feed on the weak! They should take on someone their own size.

I have to admit, I’m quite pissed to see that raids have been raining on my village already. Seriously people? You’re big villages.MEME

If you want loot, wouldn’t there be more on bigger villages compared to starting ones? Do you really have to feed on the weak and helpless? Such cowards! Man up, people!

This is so annoying! It’s holding me back on my progress. I’ve been doing well lately. I’ve got more resources and my cranny is now up. All I have to do is build more to protect more resources. But these raids are keeping me from progress.

Anyway, I hope my barracks will be up before I know it. I need troops and I need them to start doing raids of my own. But apparently, there are still a lot of work to be done. Although I’m checking a blog about a beginner’s guide to raiding and it has some helpful tips every beginner should know. Not much on the pro tips but basics so it’s pretty much good info already.

For now, I have no plans of doing raids yet. I want to make sure first that I have the enough resources I would need. But, I might build troops just to see if they can defend my village. I guess it’s a gamble and a bit of experiment but I won’t do that just yet. I have other better things to spend my resources on.

So for my next projects, I have to build a Barracks and and Embassy. My Barracks will be up soon in any minute now then I’ll be building my Embassy. These are all things in the task list which I mentioned in the previous post. Very helpful if you need to know which buildings to prioritize building.

Also, don’t forget to upgrade and upgrade and upgrade your main building. I learned that the higher the level of the main building is, the faster other buildings will construct. Time saved! It’s a very helpful tip.

Oh! And don’t forget to upgrade your cranny and granary from time to time. The higher the level, the more space there is. So if you want to improve resources, you will need to increase space first. It will be useless to upgrade your resource fields if there’s no space to store them, right?

I guess you could say that at this stage, you will really have nothing else to be busy about than establishing your village. You have to set up everything you need for a “fully operational” village. You have to build this, upgrade that, improve this, construct that. Pretty much, that’s just it actually.

I suppose I should also stop worrying about the raiders. As long as they don’t increase and they are not as frequent then it’s probably not much to worry about. It really won’t make you lose much. So far, only about 100+ of each resources is lost. Yes, it’s not that big therefore it’s not worthy to complain much about. It just pissed me off that’s all but I know being mad about it  won’t solve anything. I really just hope it won’t increase or become frequent. Becoming a farm is just the worst. What’s even “worster” that than? Being a frequent farm for so many players. Now that’s a nightmare.

If ever that happens again, I’ll definitely freak out. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know it’s the reason why I abandoned my previous account. A situation like that would be hopeless. So don’t lose hope yet. You’re still starting so a lot could still change. Just don’t let it hinder you from progressing. Still, do as much as you can. It may slow you down but it can’t really stop you. Take it easy and all will be well.

To let you know also, I’m still sending my hero to adventures. No rest for the hero. When she comes back from a dangerous adventure and lost some health points, I send her again to a less dangerous adventure. That way the experience points continue to increase without much risk.

Travian Progress Across UKX, USX and COMX

niel patrick harrisSeems like Travian has come a long way from that older version.

We had tons of travian combat simulators and greasemonkey scripts thanks to guys like killroid that made the esthetic look and functionality much nicer.

And now with Travian 4, all that need has shrinked away because somehow, the graphic guys over at travian HQ made a better version.

Now there is some debate about what was made better vs. what was left behind. I’m curious, what does our audience think about the new Travian vs. the old one. Good or bad?

Or is it?
