Ok so the new lazy travian plan is quite simple:
Rather than start a new account from scratch, which is very time intensive, I’m going to talk to my Travian buddies and find someone who is quitting and take over their account. Ideally someone who is in a top alliance where I depend on the security of the alliance to keep the number of times I’m attacked low.
Okay, honestly, this is really lazy of me, but artis just came out 2 weeks ago on USX… there are a lot of people who are going to become inactive… very soon!
Now with that said, I’m going to be keeping an eye out for an account USX, COMX or NLX since that’s where I have the most friends.
I’m browsing on Google, seems like there are a lot of new Travian blogs popping around. Travian is a funny game. Most people who make a site about their resources or experiences… never keep the forum going to more than a few months. A year max.
There’s one called “www.travianhint.com” nice domain name for sure… The fact that someone actually spent the $10 to register the domain is promising. Maybe I’ll finally have someone to talk to.
I’m in the process of putting together a Skype group for all the online Travian resource providers, so we can collaborate. If you are interested, send me an email, it’s Elvis at this domain. I’ll get you added in the group.
So I’ve been told. I’m excited to see how this goes with my new work schedule. I have this schedule where I arrive at the office at 7:45 and work until noon. Then from 12-5 I work on strategy. This leaves me with plenty of time to play Travian on my iPhone.
ive reconnected with one of the members of the A-Team from NL. Maybe I can join the end of a COMX or USX server and take over someone’s account. So many people quit Travian after starting there never seems to be a shortage of account to pick up, once someone else has done the heavy lifting.
So I have a few accounts, one of them is on USX. I’m not doing really well, but I’m the only person on that travian account… no duals. It’s like, my “private account”… actually more like a test account, to see if playing Gaul is actually fun.
Turns out, the answer to this is: it depends, because…
Last night, I made a mistake (who doesn’t?): I sent an attack to a village without faking all of the other villages belonging to that player and in so doing, get to say “bye bye” to a good chunk of my farming resources:So the lesson here is that when you’re attacking someone who has a few villages, it’s always best to:
- Fake catapult attack all the other villages
- Make sure all the fake catapult attacks arrive at the same time
- Probably a good idea to have scouted all the villages as well (unless you’re planning on sending the catapult clearing wave to a village you did not scout)
The attack is a little bit interesting since I did send a catapult clearing wave to get rid of the troops that were in the village… but my goal, at least initially was to make a farm out of the village.. not to say “goodbye” almost 1600 troops. Oh well.
I’m not sure why, but this season of USX has been extremely boring… maybe because I’ve gone out on my own, or maybe because there are less than 4000 players on the server. Travian is just not quite as popular as it used to be, and I think I know why… but that’s subject for another blog post.
Catapults always make things a little more interesting… only in this case I didn’t use them!
New and fresh Travian account for me. With the past account that I had, I made a lot of mistakes. I’ll admit that. But now that I get to start anew, I certainly learned quite some things that I know I should not do with the new account.
I’m setting goals, straight and in plain black and white, so that I know exactly what I should aim for this time. As a beginner, it might be hard to get a right start. But getting a second chance at it will help me get on the right track. I have to set first things first. For my new Travian account, these will be the goals.
- Build a Level 100 Gaul Hero
- Settle Over 10 Villages
- Make new friends on USX, COMX and possibly UKX (The more the merrier, right?)
- Avoid Village Confusion (It was a pain, really…)
- NEVER EVER see 52 or more incoming attacks (I must not be a farm!)
- Upgrade building fast
Although I know there are a lot to work on and these goals may take time to achieve but I know if I just do things right this time, it’ll go smoothly. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you guys updated.
Wish me luck!
Seems like Travian has come a long way from that older version.
We had tons of travian combat simulators and greasemonkey scripts thanks to guys like killroid that made the esthetic look and functionality much nicer.
And now with Travian 4, all that need has shrinked away because somehow, the graphic guys over at travian HQ made a better version.
Now there is some debate about what was made better vs. what was left behind. I’m curious, what does our audience think about the new Travian vs. the old one. Good or bad?
Or is it?
